Cut energy costs.
Increase resilience.
Support your community.
Add the IceBrick® to significantly reduce your hotel’s energy costs while enhancing cooling resilience overall and benefiting the community by helping balance the local grid.
Hotels typically have cooling loads 24/7/365, and cooling a hotel can consume up to 70% of their energy load during peak hours. Cutting down energy costs while meeting cooling demands can be a tough challenge. The main problem is that cooling demands stay high long into peak price hours. This means that the electricity you use during the afternoon and evening hours is costly for the grid and therefore for you too. The IceBrick® changes all that and ensures you always have cold energy even when the grid is strained, and supply is uncertain.
The IceBrick® allows you to store low-cost and clean energy by charging during off-peak hours when demand is low and the grid uses the most efficient power generation sources available. Then, when demand goes up, the grid calls on less efficient and more polluting sources, and prices go up as well, the IceBrick system can discharge the stored cold energy to avoid the high costs and pollution of these inefficient resources, and even generate revenue to the building for providing relief to the grid, all without uninterrupting its cooling.
The IceBrick® helps you significantly reduce energy costs, and enhance overall resilience.
Charge with low-cost electricity and discharge per grid or price signals to earn money or reduce costs
Add redundancy to your cooling operations
Enjoy longer equipment life and add competitive edge to any property at no up-front cost
Use ice to cool your building in place of electricity when grid-power is at peak-time emissions
Enjoy longer equipment life and add competitive edge to any property at no up-front cost
The core of the IceBrick® system consists of an array of patented, modular energy storage cells, customized to your building. The system is managed by an advanced on-site controller, for energy flow management, and a cloud-based management and optimization platform for performance control, grid-integration, and reporting.
